There are two options on how to do bulletins when you’re in the Shock Radio studios:
There’s no requirement for anyone to do either and you don’t have to stick with it every time you are covering bulletins. Doing bulletins live is easier to set up, but there’s only one take.
Bulletins
Open the bulletin after the jingle with:
“It’s just gone X O’Clock I’m X with the headlines”
Close the bulletins with:
“It’s X mins past X you’re up to date”
Length of news bulletins:
2 minutes in duration - You will need a newsbed to play whilst newsreading
Close with travel or weather (15/20 secs max for them) you will need separate travel/weather bed for that which will be in the "News" hotkeys on Zetta.
News updates (Weekend)
Open the updates with:
“It’s coming up to Eleven O’’Clock I’m X with the morning headlines”
Close the updates with:
“It’s X mins past X thats the latest ”
Length of news updates:
10 mins in duration *ish - Always start around 10:50 aim to finish at 10:57 so we then have a song to swap over to the presenters at 11am on the desk, as you will drive the desk for the news updates.
You will also need the hotkey bank called “NEWS”. As you open Zetta, the hot keys are on the left hand side.
You can access the “NEWS” hotkey bank by either selecting the drop-down menu just above the coloured buttons and finding “NEWS”, or using the shortcut button pictured above, which is in the “HOME” hotkey bank.
You will need to drag the “Shock News 2526” bed into the log in Zetta. To do that, click and hold the hotkey labelled ‘Shock News 2526’ and drag it into the hour you’ll be doing the bulletin, right below the “Top of Hour”. If you are using any audio clips, they should be uploaded to "Inbox" and then put into the hotkey bank.
From there, get ready for your hour by writing your script, IRN is extremely useful for this - find the guide HERE.
Make sure you communicate with the show’s presenters as they will need to know what you’re doing, especially if you are using audio clips.
Pre - Recorded Bulletins
Firstly, you will need to drag the beds into the log for the bulletin, as shown above.
Then ask someone - i haven't written this bit yet - Aaron
