This is your go-to guide for everything that makes Shock work - the shows, the people, the equipment, and the chaos that keeps it all running. Think of it as the behind-the-scenes handbook for getting involved, creating great content, and keeping our station sounding and looking the best. Whether you’re a first-time presenter or just need a quick refresh, this wiki has what you need to get started!
Shock is Salford SU’s award-winning student media network, winning 15 national awards in 2024/25.
There's something for everyone at Shock - you can host your own show, or join our roster of news, sport, or music presenters. If TV is more your thing, we have regular shows and productions that need YOU! You can also help write our blogs and news articles online. We're also the home of live sport at Salford, with plenty of opportunities to commentate on games across campus and beyond.
Shock Radio broadcasts live online 24 hours a day from our studios at University House and is home to over 70 shows! By joining us, you could have your own! This year, we proudly hosted the largest-ever Student Radio Conference, welcoming stations from across the country.
Shock TV had its biggest year to date, with over 200 uploads, more than 50,000 views, and our most ambitious Varsity coverage ever – streamed from five different locations, reaching a record number of viewers.
We also raised £1,685 for Mind in Salford through our annual Charity Campsite, making 2024/25 one of our most impactful years yet.
